Some projects start with market demand. Others grow out of a deeply personal need to make a difference. The best of them evolve into initiatives that significantly improve people's lives.

A good example of this is NeuroLog Life Foundation, a U.S.-based 501(c)(3)* nonprofit. Its goal is to enhance care coordination for children with autism.

The origins of NeuroLog Life

The idea behind this nonprofit traces back to founder Aadhithya Ramesh's childhood. He grew up alongside a younger brother who is autistic, non-speaking, and requires substantial daily support.

His family's experience is far from unique. According to estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network, approximately 1 in 31 children aged 8 years (3.2%) have been identified with autism spectrum disorder.

Like many siblings and caregivers, Aadhithya often wondered what happened during the hours he wasn't there to see. What was his brother trying to communicate? What contributed to difficult moments, and what helped make a good day better?

Those questions stayed with him for years. Later, as a Frisco ISD student and biomedical researcher focused on neurodevelopmental disorders, he began exploring them through a scientific lens.

This ultimately led to the creation of NeuroLog Life Foundation. Together with Vedcharan Peddu and Manan Poddar, two UT Dallas students with experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning, Aadhithya set out to build something that could help families and care professionals better coordinate autism care and support.

The team developed a pilot platform and filed a U.S. provisional patent application related to cross-context information fusion and behavioral-pattern detection. The founder also published microglia-focused neurodevelopmental research in the National High School Journal of Science.

The problem NeuroLog Life aims to solve

One of the challenges people raising children with autism face every day is that vital information is scattered. Parents, therapists, caregivers, and educators may each see a different part of a child's day, making it difficult to build a complete picture.

As Aadhithya Ramesh explained: 2

When those involved in a child's care can access shared information, they are better equipped to understand what influences daily experiences. Communication attempts, AAC selections, sleep patterns, behavioral observations, and therapy notes may seem unrelated in isolation, but together they can provide valuable context.

That idea became the foundation of the NeuroLog platform. It brings information from therapy sessions and home environments into a single place, helping parents and care professionals develop a more complete understanding of a child's needs, experiences, and progress over time.

Importantly, the solution is not designed to make decisions on behalf of families or doctors. As the team explains, the goal is not to use AI to determine what a child needs, but to help parents and therapists see a clearer picture and ask better questions together. Technology supports the process, while decisions remain in human hands.

Andersen steps in

Building a solution, however, requires more than passion and determination. Young founders often have to balance research, product development, fundraising, outreach, and long-term planning all at once. Access to experienced mentors and industry expertise is especially valuable at that stage.

As an early concept grew into a nonprofit initiative, NeuroLog Life attracted advisors across neurodevelopment, behavioral sciences, and AI/ML, as well as early collaborators. That network includes technology leaders with backgrounds at organizations such as Google and NVIDIA. It was at this stage that Andersen became involved.

When the team learned about NeuroLog, it immediately recognized its importance. The company is committed to helping purpose-driven projects grow and succeed. As Valentin Kuzmenko, Chief Commercial Officer, explains: 3

Unlike a traditional client engagement, the partnership was established on a pro bono basis. Andersen offered marketing support and product guidance that would help the NeuroLog team plan its future direction.

Platform assessment and roadmap development

Once the partnership began, Andersen's experts evaluated the platform's current state. The goal was to provide UX, accessibility, and healthcare expertise that could help strengthen the solution.

The review covered NeuroLog Life's digital ecosystem, including its public website, therapist portal, parent portal, and child-facing application. By examining how people interacted with these touchpoints, Andersen helped the organization identify areas where the experience could be clearer and more intuitive.

The nonprofit also received a practical roadmap for refining the platform. Together, both teams explored priorities, discussed emerging needs, and outlined actions that could ensure its continued development.

Reflecting on Andersen's involvement, NeuroLog Life co-founders Vedcharan Peddu and Manan Poddar share:

As a result, the founders were able to draw on guidance that would otherwise be difficult for many early-stage nonprofits to access.

Looking ahead

NeuroLog Life is an inspiring example for young people determined to create something lasting. It also shows how established organizations can contribute by sharing their knowledge and experience beyond the boundaries of traditional business relationships.

NeuroLog's journey is still unfolding. With continued effort and collaboration, the nonprofit hopes to help even more families in the years ahead.
