Business Context
The customer, with their broad portfolio of wealth and asset management solutions, places significant emphasis on design and usability. In order to complement its internal resources and gain additional external perspectives, the company engaged Andersen. Our task was to provide a team of highly skilled specialists with relevant expertise in FinTech for a finance app UI design project.
Challenges
As a prominent FinTech solutions provider, the customer faced a significant challenge in modernizing its flagship product, Antana – a solution for wealth and asset management. While the platform was robust, its underlying technology, chosen over 20 years ago, required a complete rewrite to meet contemporary market demands for agility and enhanced UI/UX in finance apps. The core objective was to transform a code-heavy, developer-dependent process into an intuitive, low-code environment.
Project overview
The company needed to enable third-party developers and customizers to build and modify complex reports, forms, and tables through a WYSIWYG interface, drastically reducing manual coding and accelerating deployment. In order to bring in fresh expertise for this critical transformation, Kline sought an external partner with a proven UI/UX track record in the highly specialized FinTech domain. This led to the initiation of our strategic partnership.
About the project
Andersen was entrusted with a web app project for corporate and financial management; specifically, the development of customizable forms and tables for reporting. The initiative began as a complete rewrite and evolution of Kline’s flagship product. The primary goal was to minimize manual effort and coding in the creation and customization of pages and forms. This was achieved through the implementation of WYSIWYG and low-code principles, making the process significantly easier for third-party developers and customizers.
App functionality
Andersen fully rose to the occasion, delivering the following results:
Visual form and report builder:
- Central WYSIWYG interface enabling users to drag and drop components to build and customize complex data tables and input forms in real-time;
- Eliminates the need for manual coding, empowering non-developers and third-party customizers.
UX/UI for the financial app:
- Instant visual updates as changes are made, powered by Redux state management for predictable and efficient UI behavior;
- Built with a reusable library of styled UI components (buttons, inputs, grids) created using Styled Components and SCSS to ensure a consistent design system.
Financial data handling and integration:
- Seamless API integration via Axios for secure data fetching, submission, and validation;
- Optimized for enterprise-grade performance with code-splitting via webpack and responsive design principles.
Solution
Andersen delivered a flexible interface focused on usability and speed. The team built a drag-and-drop visual builder for creating complex forms and tables without coding, supported by a reusable UI component system for visual consistency. Financial data handling was enhanced with secure API integrations, real-time updates, and webpack optimization for predictable UX and stable performance.
Project results
Andersen assembled a team of experienced designers with a strong background in FinTech to address the customer’s needs in terms of UX/UI for their financial app. The team worked closely with Kline’s product owners and engineers to assess existing workflows and user painpoints, define design priorities, and create a both modern and intuitive interface for the low-code form and report builder.
Throughout the project, Andersen’s experts applied best practices in usability engineering, responsive design, and design system consistency to ensure a seamless UX and UI in the finance management app.
