Project overview

Andersen partnered with the customer to optimize their Salesforce environment, automate key processes, and enhance user experience. A comprehensive technical audit and discovery phase helped to identify inefficiencies, outdated elements, and opportunities for automation. This led to a system cleanup, bug fixes, and performance enhancements, ensuring smoother operations across departments.

To streamline sales processes, we redefined the UI and automated document generation, enabling sales agents to create and send accurate proposals, invoices, and contracts with ease. A customized CPQ solution eliminated errors, improving deal management and accelerating sales cycles.

With a more intuitive and automated system, the customer has increased platform adoption, reduced manual work, and begun migrating core business processes to Salesforce, thus ensuring greater efficiency and data accuracy across the organization.

Customer challenge

The company has been using Sales Cloud for years, but it hadn't been consistently maintained or configured since its initial implementation. It was filled with outdated and redundant solutions that did not meet all company and industry requirements.

The customer faced the following challenges:

  • Different programs, such as Excel, Google Sheets, and others, were being used to store valuable client data;
  • A PDF generator had previously been implemented, but it was not properly configured and was not relevant for 2024;
  • A misconfigured CPQ was causing serious user performance issues;
  • Users were overwhelmed with fields asking for data that wasn’t relevant.

Solution

Andersen conducted a thorough technical audit of the existing program customizations and a data quality check. Then, we suggested having discovery meetings with each of the departments to better understand how Salesforce was currently used, what they considered to be their master data, and what the data flow between Salesforce and third-party services was.

After that, when the complete requirements were ready and approved by the customer, we designed multiple back-end solutions (per the customer’s request, we used declarative tools where possible but also used Apex, including asynchronous Apex, and some free third-party solutions) to automate the organization’s everyday routines. We also customized the dynamic UI using all of the latest Salesforce release features. Thus, we restored functionality, eliminated outdated elements and fields, and implemented enhancements that greatly improved performance.

Together with the customer, we redefined the UI and automated sales document generation—from products and product rules to dynamic templates and deal renewals. Andersen’s team eliminated errors in the CPQ PDF generator and set up a seamless automated document creation process. Sales agents are now able to create and use customizable document templates featuring company branding and other specific requirements. Sales agents can also quickly generate and send quotes to clients with accurate data and calculations, which speeds up the process of closing deals.

Now, with the more convenient user experience, the customer attracts more users to the platform, thereby increasing the amount of data they have. Now, they're not only able to maintain this data effectively but also use it to improve sales.
